IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals shine in Mullanpur, give Punjab Kings the taste of defeat by winning by 6 wickets

In the 40th match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag won the toss and decided to bowl first. Punjab Kings, who came to bat first, had a fast start. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh added 37 runs in 17 balls for the first wicket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a good start to Rajasthan Royals while chasing the target of 223 runs. Both of them added 51 runs in just 20 balls for the first wicket. Suryavanshi scored 43 runs in 16 balls, while Jaiswal scored a half-century of 51 runs in 27 balls.

After this Donovan Ferreira and Shubham Dubey took over the innings. Both of them made an unbeaten 70-run partnership in 30 balls for the fifth wicket and brought the team closer to victory.

Shubham Dubey scored unbeaten 32 runs in 12 balls, while Donovan Ferreira played a brilliant half-century of 52 runs in 26 balls. Thanks to the excellent finishing of both of them, Rajasthan Royals achieved the target in just 19.2 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.

In bowling for Punjab Kings, Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh got 1 success.

In this way, Rajasthan Royals registered a spectacular victory with 4 balls remaining and Punjab Kings had to face their first defeat of this season.
