Battle of Bengal: Close contest in ‘Poll of Polls’, BJP’s slight lead increases TMC’s heartbeat, the box of suspense will open on May 4

West bengal elections: After the great battle on 294 seats of West Bengal, now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the results. Different exit polls have made this contest so interesting that everyone is holding their breath. The figures coming out of ‘Poll of Polls’ are indicating that there is a ‘close fight’ between BJP and TMC in Bengal. The round of claims and counterattacks has already started regarding who will get closer to the seat of power.

The complex puzzle of exit polls

This time’s exit polls have left both the public and the leaders in confusion. Out of the 5 big surveys that have come out, 4 are seeing the formation of BJP government, but one survey has surprised everyone by claiming a big victory for TMC. That means, it will be too early to say anything until the last vote is counted. If we look at the figures, MATRIZE estimates that BJP can get 146-161 seats, while TMC can remain at 125-140. On the contrary, PEOPLE’S PULSE claims that Mamata Didi’s magic is intact and she can get 177-187 seats. At the same time, surveys like P-MARQ and Poll Diary also seem to be taking BJP beyond 150.

West bengal elections: There is a problem even in the average figures

When we look at the summary of all these surveys i.e. ‘Poll of Polls’, the contest appears even closer. According to the average, the situation is like this: BJP: 141-149 seats, TMC+: 134-142 seats, Others: 4-8 seats, it is clear from these figures that BJP is getting a slight lead, but the margin of victory is so small that a slight reversal can turn the whole game. At present it is difficult to say who will hold the keys to power in Bengal.

Waiting for the morning of May 4th

West bengal elections: We should not forget that these are just estimates, not reality. The real decision will be taken only after the EVMs are opened on 4th May. That day it will become clear whether the people of Bengal have elected those who dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’ or have reposed faith in the slogan of ‘Maa-Mati-Manush’. At present, from the streets of Bengal to the corridors of Delhi.
