Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh, who left AAP, reached High Court on removal of security
Rajya Sabha MP and former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has reached Punjab and Haryana High Court. He has approached the court regarding removal of security. He has filed a petition in the court asking why his security was removed and whether it should be reinstated.
According to media reports, the next hearing on this matter will be held on May 12. Recently, seven Rajya Sabha MPs of AAP, including Harbhanaj Singh, left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP.
The Punjab government had withdrawn the security of Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh, hours after which the central government intervened. Harbhajan Singh has been given ‘Y Category’ security by CRPF. Apart from him, Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal was also provided Y category security.
AAP’s Raghav Chadha, Swati Maliwal, Sandeep Pathak, Vikramjit Singh Sahni, Ashok Mittal, Harbhajan Singh and Rajendra Gupta decided to leave the party. This information was given by Raghav Chadha himself. AAP workers also demonstrated outside Harbhajan Singh’s residence. During this, effigies were burnt and slogans were raised. Except Swati Maliwal, all the other six were sent by Aam Aadmi Party to Rajya Sabha from Punjab.
The merger of all the MPs who left AAP with BJP has been approved by the Rajya Sabha Chairman. Now the number of AAP MPs in Rajya Sabha has reduced from 10 to seven.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has appealed to the Rajya Sabha Chairman against Raghav Chadha and other MPs who joined BJP to be disqualified. At present, the political temperature in Punjab is rising due to these MPs leaving the party.
