Steve Smith reacts to dismissal by striking bat on dressing room floor in PSL 2026 Eliminator match
Steve Smith was upset after his PSL franchise, Multan Sultans, crashed out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 after their defeat against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the Eliminator. It ended Multan’s disappointing campaign in the tournament. Multan Sultans managed just 159 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs, with Shan Masood amassing 69. Hyderabad Kingsmen reached the target in 15.2 overs with eight wickets in hand. Smith managed just 13 runs off 10 deliveries.
Smith was dismissed in the final delivery of the third over when Mohammad Ali got rid of him. Smith was frustrated and hit the floor with his bat, a moment that went viral on social media.

Multan skipper Ashton Turner opined on his team’s defeat. “We lost the momentum in the last couple of matches. We won six out of eight games and were in form. We were outplayed in the powerplay overs, and this was the first time we lost so many wickets. Our batters have done well in the previous contests, but it was not the game that we wanted,” Â Turner said.
Multan Sultans have been eliminated from the PSL 2026, and now  Hyderabad Kingsmen will compete against Islamabad United in the second Eliminator on Friday, with the winner set to take on Peshawar Zalmi in the final on Sunday.
