- 1 cup gram flour
- 1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
- 1 green chilli (chopped)
- 2 tbsp green coriander (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp celery
- salt as per taste
- Water (to make batter)
- Oil (for frying)
How to make gram flour onion cheela
Gram flour and onion cheela tastes delicious. To prepare it, take gram flour in a bowl and slowly add water to it and prepare a smooth batter. Take care that there are no lumps in it. The batter should neither be too thin nor too thick.
Now add chopped onion, green chilli, green coriander, turmeric, red chilli, celery and salt to this batter and mix well. This will further enhance the taste of cheela.
Heat the pan on medium flame and apply a little oil. When the pan becomes hot, add a ladle of batter and spread it in a round shape.
Fry the cheela until it becomes golden and crispy on both sides.
Pour some oil on top so that the cheela gets cooked properly and becomes crisp. Remove the prepared cheela in a plate and serve hot with green chutney or tomato sauce.
