Sanjay Singh wrote on social media X, extreme mistreatment of Indian pilgrims in Mecca (Azizia)! The condition of Asaf Al Qureshi hostel is shameful, despite taking almost ₹4 lakh, families separated, 16 people in one room, lift not working, one dirty washroom for 16 people. Dirty water from the washroom is standing inside the room. This is unbearable. Haj Committee of India should take immediate action.
At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party’s state spokesperson Faisal Khan Lala has written a letter to the Chairman of Haj Committee of India. In this he wrote that, through the Haj Committee this year, very serious complaints are being received regarding the Indian Haj pilgrims who went to Mecca Mukarrama. According to information, despite nearly ₹4,00,000 being taken from a Haji, the facilities are very poor. The video of ‘Asaf Al Qureshi Hotel’ located in Azizia area is being shared as evidence, in which the actual condition of the arrangements is clear.

He further wrote, the major problems are as follows: Families are being forcibly separated. The accommodation arrangements are substandard and not up to standards. 8 to 16 people are accommodated in one room, the condition of washrooms is very pathetic – only 1 washroom is available for 16 people, which is extremely dirty and unhygienic. Dirty water from the washroom is coming under the room. Lifts are bad, basic amenities (cleanliness, water, space etc.) are seriously lacking. Despite taking such a huge amount for a holy duty like Haj, this kind of mismanagement is extremely unfortunate and condemnable.
Faisal Khan Lala has demanded that a high-level investigation be conducted into this entire matter. The concerned hotels/agencies should be investigated and strict action should be taken against the culprits. Clean, safe and standard facilities should be immediately ensured for Haj pilgrims. The condition of washrooms and sanitation should be improved immediately. If immediate improvements are not made, this issue will be raised on a larger scale.
