Purandar Airport : Big News!! ‘These’ farmers in the state will get 1.5 crore rupees per acre
Purandar Airport | The proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport project in Purandar taluka of Pune district has finally gained momentum and the information has come to light that a major progress has been made in the land acquisition process. This is a comforting news for the farmers who have been waiting for many months. According to the government’s decision, the farmers will be paid about Rs.1.5 crore per acre for the lands to be acquired. Due to this decision of the government, many farmers in this area will become millionaires and bring happiness and prosperity to their homes.
The Purandar Airport project is considered very ambitious for Pune district. The need for a new airport had been underlining for the past few years, considering the growing population, industrial expansion and increasing air traffic. The project is expected to not only improve transport facilities, but also provide a major boost to industrial, commercial and tourism sectors. As a result, the development of the entire area can be accelerated.
Land in 7 villages of Purandar taluka has been earmarked for the airport. All necessary procedures for acquisition of agricultural lands in these villages were completed earlier. However, the actual work was delayed due to the non-fixation of the rate of remuneration. Farmers were aggressive for higher rates, many farmers initially refused to give land to Purandar Airport. But now the high-powered committee of the government has fixed the rate of around Rs 1.5 crore per acre, which has created an atmosphere of satisfaction among the farmers. This rate is considered good as compared to the market price. Therefore, now the opposition to this project from the farmers is expected to decrease.
According to the information given by the officials, the process of depositing the remuneration amount directly into the farmers’ bank account will start from May 4. Direct deposit into the account will make transactions more transparent and faster, avoiding the intervention of middlemen. The administration has prepared to distribute large amount of funds in the first phase.
A fund of around Rs 6,000 crore is required for this land acquisition, and the state government has set up a special purpose authority to raise it. CIDCO holds 51 per cent stake in this authority, while MIDC, MADC and PMRDA are also involved. The joint efforts of all these organizations are providing necessary financial and administrative support for the project.
