West Bengal Election 2026 News: Election Commission in West Bengal Repolling has been ordered at 15 polling stations (booths) in the two assembly constituencies. The re-voting will start at 7:00 am on Saturday. There were allegations of irregularities during voting at these particular polling stations. The Election Commission has issued these orders following the recommendation of the Special Election Inspector. However, the Commission is yet to take any decision on the allegations of taping of EVMs at Falta. According to the Election Commission, re-polling will be held on Saturday at four polling stations in Diamond Harbor—numbered 117, 179, 194 and 243 and at polling stations 46, 126, 127, 128, 142, 214, 215, 216, 230, 231 and 232 in Magarahat West.

A statement issued by the Election Commission announced that fresh polling has been ordered at 11 polling stations in Magrahat West Assembly Constituency and four polling stations in Diamond Harbor Assembly Constituency located in South 24 Parganas district.

Repolling will begin tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM
As per the order of the Commission dated 1st May 2026, this repolling will be held on 2nd May 2026 between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This decision was taken after receiving a report from the concerned Election Returning Officers and Observers regarding the polling held on 29 April 2026 during the West Bengal Assembly elections.
The Commission explained that the polling conducted at these identified polling stations has been declared void (invalid) under Section 58(2) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and fresh polling has been ordered.
Polling stations affected by the re-polling include several stations in both Magarahat West and Diamond Harbor constituencies; The commission has directed that the re-polling should be done strictly following the instructions of the commission.
