Vedanta Plant Blast: Vedanta owner expressed pain, gave clarification on FIR in gestures; told who is responsible for that accident
Vedanta Chairperson Anil Agarwal: Company chairperson Anil Agarwal has reacted after the accident at Vedanta Group’s power plant in Singhitarai, Chhattisgarh. Making a post on Facebook, he wrote that I had heard that time often tests me, I have been experiencing this for the last few months. At the beginning of the year, I first lost my young son and then, this month, on April 14, the tragic accident at the Singhitarai Power Plant took away 25 of my precious friends.
He further wrote that I know very well the pain of such untimely death. Both the accidents seem so unnatural and full of pain that no one can imagine.
Who had the responsibility of security?
I feel sad and surprised to think that we took utmost care in our plant, we also handed over the entire responsibility of this plant to NGSL in partnership with India’s most trusted Maharatna company NTPC JE. Contractors and employees were also his. He was also an expert and based on this trust, we outsourced the maintenance and operation of this plant. Nevertheless this unfortunate accident happened.
‘Uttest focus on safety’
This is similar to how vehicle owners often give their vehicle to a trusted driver. And hope that the drivers and vehicles will remain safe by following the rules. Vedanta Group In every contract of NTPC, safety is given utmost importance and NTPC and GE also have the same policy. Even after that, if such a big accident happens then the heart breaks.

All the victims have received compensation
On behalf of the Vedanta family and myself, I pay tribute to the 25 loved ones we have lost, including my son Agnivesh. It is true that there is no bus. All the victims of the plant have received compensation and in future too, we will definitely do whatever we can as the Chairman of Vedanta Group.
