West Bengal Elections: Allegations of threatening TMC workers before counting of votes, security forces deployed

West Bengal Elections: After the West Bengal Assembly elections, re-polling is going on at 15 polling stations in two constituencies on Saturday. A large number of people are going to re-vote. Several complaints of vote rigging were received during the second phase of the state assembly elections on April 29, after which the Election Commission had decided to conduct re-polling at 15 polling stations.

Meanwhile, tension spread in Falta of South 24 Parganas district on Saturday, when local people protested. He alleged that TMC workers are intimidating and threatening him before the counting of votes for the West Bengal Assembly elections.

The protesters demanded re-polling in Falta. He said that TMC supporters are threatening him. He also demanded deployment of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) in the entire area to ensure security. In view of the situation, the administration has deployed heavy security forces in the area. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel have been deployed at important locations. To strengthen the security arrangements, an armored vehicle of CRPF has also been deployed.

Let us tell you that this protest is taking place at a time when, on the instructions of the Election Commission, re-polling is going on at 15 polling stations in Magrahat West and Diamond Harbor assembly constituencies of South 24 Parganas. According to the Election Commission, till 2 pm, 56.33 percent voting was recorded in Magrahat West and 54.9 percent in Diamond Harbour. While the total voting percentage was 55.57.
