Soldiers were searching for IED in Chhattisgarh forest, then bomb exploded, 3 martyred

A painful incident has happened in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. There was a massive explosion in the previously hidden IED bomb here. Three District Reserve Guard (DRG) soldiers died after being hit by it. The accident occurred when a team of security forces was engaged in searching and removing old bombs planted inside the forest.

 

The blast took place in the forest under Chhotabethiya police station area of ​​Kanker district. This place is very near the border of Narayanpur district. Most importantly, this is the first time after the state was declared free from armed Maoists that soldiers have lost their lives in such an incident.

Explosion occurred while searching

The security forces were conducting ‘demining operation’ in the forest, which means finding old bombs buried under the ground and destroying them safely. Naxalites often hide such explosive IEDs on the way to harm security forces. Meanwhile suddenly an IED exploded, due to which three soldiers were martyred on the spot.

Bastar IG P. Sundarraj confirmed the news and said that all three martyred soldiers were members of DRG. It has also come to light that another soldier was injured in this accident. DRG is a team of state police that has been formed to deal with threats at the local level. At present, the siege has been further increased in the entire area.
