Big accident in BCCL’s Munidih Coal Washery, 4 workers died tragically due to getting buried in coal slurry, many still trapped.

BCCL Munidih Coal Washery Accident: A very painful accident has happened in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. A major accident took place here today i.e. Saturday evening at Munidih Coal Washery of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). Four laborers have died tragically after being buried under coal slurry. There is a possibility of many more laborers being buried. The administration is engaged in rescue and relief work.

This accident happened at around 5 pm on Saturday evening in BCCL’s Coal Washery Project inside Munidih OP area. This accident happened due to sudden fall of slurry during slurry loading in the truck. Many contract laborers got buried during this period. After the incident, there was chaos on the spot and relief and rescue work was started immediately.

4 laborers died in the accident

According to reports, so far 4 bodies have been recovered from the spot. Pakti Police Station Incharge Waqar Hussain has confirmed the death of 4 laborers. Many other people are feared buried under the debris. Relief and rescue work is being done on war footing. Efforts are being made to rescue the trapped people by removing the debris with the help of JCB.

An accident happened last month also

Let us tell you that earlier last month, 4 people had died due to gas leakage in the closed captive power plant of BCCL in Munidih, Dhanbad. It is alleged that the deceased had entered the plant to steal iron. While cutting the pipe of a chlorine gas tank, it exploded and due to it, 4 people died and many others were injured.

It is known that earlier in December, two laborers had lost their lives in a tragic accident in the open cast mine of Central Coalfield Limited in Hazaribagh district. In this accident, the high wall of the mine fell on a truck laden with coal, resulting in the death of two people.
