Kolkata Police again removed the officer in charge of Kalighat Police Station!

Kolkata Police on Sunday removed Kalighat police station officer-in-charge (OC) Chameli Mukherjee from the post within 24 hours of her appointment, officials said.

Along with this, the officer in charge of Kalighat police station located in Bhawanipur assembly constituency of West Bengal has been changed four times in the last 36 days.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s residence falls in the Kalighat police station area of ​​South Kolkata.

Chameli Mukherjee was appointed to the post on Saturday in place of Gautam Das, who had courted controversy over his social media posts. However, this order was canceled within 24 hours.

This time Balai Bagh has been made the acting officer (OC) of Kalighat police station.

Balai Bagh was the additional caretaker (OC) of Polerhat police station of Bhangar division of Kolkata Police. He has been made the caretaker of Kalighat police station of Kolkata South Division.

Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand gave this order. Since the announcement of West Bengal Assembly elections, the Election Commission has made several reshuffles in Kolkata and the state police.

Meanwhile, for the first time on March 29, there was a change in the acting officer (OC) of Kalighat and Utpal Ghosh of the Intelligence Department of Kolkata Police was appointed to this post.

The Election Commission removed Utpal Ghosh from the post within a month of his appointment.

On 25 April, Gautam Das was made the new acting officer of Kalighat. He was in the Special Branch of Kolkata Police. Later, on Saturday, Gautam Das was suspended by Kolkata Police due to his controversial social media posts and later removed from the post.

In his place, Chameli Mukherjee was made the acting officer of Kalighat. She was the acting officer of Ultadanga Mahila Police Station. However, this decision was reversed on Sunday.

This time Balai Bagh was brought to Kalighat from Polarhat police station in Bhangar. Voting was held in two phases on 23 and 29 April for 294 assembly seats of West Bengal. The results will be declared on May 4 after the counting of votes is completed.
