AIIMS warns, increasing screen time may affect children’s language and social abilities.
Screen Time Risk: Experts of All India Institute of Medical Sciences have advised parents to be cautious about the increasing screen time in children. Doctors say that excessive use of mobile, TV and other digital screens at an early age can have a negative impact on the mental, social and behavioral development of children.
There is an obstacle in natural development
According to Shafali Gulati, an expert in the Department of Pediatric Neurology, it is considered better to keep children from birth to 18 months away from any type of screen. Children’s brain develops rapidly at this age and excessive screen exposure can affect their natural development.
Affects communication skills
Experts believe that children who watch screens for long periods of time may have a weakened ability to learn language. Apart from this, their social behavior and communication skills may also be affected. Doctors also said that in some cases, children show behavioral signs that may resemble autism, although this has not been considered a direct cause of autism.
engaging in conversation and creative activities
Doctors have advised that the screen time of children between 18 months to 6 years should be limited. During this time, it is more important to involve children in outdoor activities, sports, interaction with family and creative activities so that their mental and emotional development can take place in a better way.

problems and sleep disorders
AIIMS experts said that many children affected with autism also have other health problems, which include epilepsy, attention deficit, behavioral problems and sleep problems. These challenges impact the lives of children as well as their families.
Children can have a better life by adopting treatment
