Delhi: Delhi Police busted inter-state vehicle theft gang, has stolen more than 1000 vehicles.
Delhi Police News: Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted the inter-state vehicle theft gang. Till now, this gang had sold more than 1000 stolen vehicles by re-registering them through fake documents. Police have arrested 10 accused in this case and recovered 31 expensive vehicles.
According to Delhi Police, this matter came to light when the car of a woman from Pitampura was stolen in August 2025. Initially the local police was investigating, but later the case was handed over to the Inter State Cell of the Crime Branch. During investigation, it was revealed that this is a big network which is spread in many states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
According to Delhi Police, the gang’s way of working was very vicious. Earlier these people used to collect stolen or loan default vehicles. After this, expert mechanics used to change the chassis numbers of the vehicles, so that their real identity was hidden. After this, fake documents like Form-21, bank NOC and registration papers were prepared.
Government employees also included in thieves’ syndicate
The shocking thing is that some government employees and agents were also involved in this work, who used to register vehicles on the basis of fake documents. Gang leader Damandeep Singh alias Lucky controlled the entire network. The recovered vehicles include luxury vehicles. Police have also recovered tools to change chassis numbers. Police say that the search for the remaining accused is going on and there is a possibility of more revelations related to this network.
