Car Thief Gang Busted: 10 people of the gang who stole and sold more than 1000 vehicles in Delhi and surrounding states arrested, a government employee of Himachal Pradesh used to play this game with them.
New Delhi. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a gang that had stolen and sold more than 1000 vehicles in Delhi and surrounding states. The members of this gang have been caught by Delhi Police. These include a government employee. The gang that stole vehicles used to run a corporate-like syndicate and steal and sell vehicles. Vehicles are stolen every day from Delhi and surrounding states. One such vehicle was stolen from Pitampura, Delhi on 5 August 2025.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police investigated the car theft. The Crime Branch came to know that this gang of car theft operates not only in Delhi but also in the neighboring states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Delhi Police has arrested 10 accused including the head of this car theft syndicate, Damandeep Singh alias Lucky. According to Delhi Police, this gang had given the responsibility of stealing the car to auto lifters. After the car was stolen, Pradeep Singh used to change the chassis number. After this, the accused named Arvind Sharma used to make fake NOC and fake documents of the bank. Subhash Chand, who works in the Himachal Pradesh government, is accused of misusing the vehicle portal to generate fake OTP and register more than 350 stolen vehicles.

The vehicles were sold to people through new registration and fake documents. Because of which they did not know that the car was stolen. Delhi Police Crime Branch conducted raids during the investigation. In which 31 vehicles like Thar, Creta, Innova, Fortuner and Scorpio were recovered. The investigation also revealed information about drug smuggling through these vehicles. Many people buy old cars. Now seeing this gang being caught by the Delhi Police and their way of working, those buying old cars also need to be careful.
