Why did Vijay file a case against his parents? Story of ‘Hero’ of Tamil Nadu

This case dates back to the time when actor Thalapathy Vijay had initiated legal action against his own parents and 9 other people. Vijay had filed a civil suit in the Madras High Court to stop these 11 people from using his name, photo or his fan club for any kind of political activities. Vijay had made it clear at that time that it was wrong to use his name politically without his permission.

The controversy started when Vijay’s father and director S.A. Chandrashekhar had taken the step of registering a political party without the actor’s consent. He had converted Vijay’s old fan club ‘Vijay Makkal Iyakkam’ (VMI) into a political party. At that time the party was named ‘All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam’ and the process of registering it with the Election Commission was also started.

Father organized a party without asking, Vijay got angry

In the party structure that was prepared at that time, the most important responsibilities were assigned to Vijay’s family members. Vijay’s father S.A. Chandrashekhar had appointed himself the General Secretary of the party. Vijay’s mother Shobha Chandrashekhar was made the treasurer of the party. Apart from these, a person named Padmanabhan was named the President of the party. All this was done without Vijay’s consent or knowledge.

Vijay had also warned his father and administrators

As soon as the news of the party was received, Vijay immediately issued a public statement. He had clearly said that he has nothing to do with this party. He had appealed to his fans not to join this party just because of his name. Vijay had then also clarified that he is not forced to accept his father’s political decisions.
