CM Dhami’s fierce form! Class of officers held in secretariat meeting, said – ‘Don’t come again without preparation’

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is seen in ‘action mode’ these days. During the review meeting of the Chief Minister’s announcements held in the Secretariat today, something happened that made the officials sweat. In fact, many officers had reached the meeting without complete preparation, seeing which the Chief Minister expressed deep displeasure. The CM bluntly said that the Chief Minister’s announcements are the top priority of the government and negligence in these will not be tolerated at any cost.

Ultimatum till June 15: ‘Procrastination will not do’

Chief Minister Dhami reprimanded the officials and said that due to lack of coordination between the departments, development works are stalling. He gave strict instructions that Government Orders (GO) for all pending announcements should be issued by June 15 and work on the works for which permission has been given should start immediately. The CM instructed the secretaries that a review meeting should be held once again before June 15 and by then all the accounts should be updated.

Responsibility of District Magistrates will be fixed

In the meeting, CM Dhami also expressed anger over the fact that despite the work starting, foundation stones have not been installed at many places. He warned that if this happens now, the District Magistrate (DM) will be directly responsible for it. Also, he said that the burden of files should not be increased by bringing the issues which can be resolved at the district level to the government. The Chief Minister has called for reports from every department as to how many announcements have been implemented so far.

‘Class’ of four assembly constituencies of Almora

During the review, the CM took detailed account of the development plans of Salt, Ranikhet, Someshwar and Jageshwar assembly constituencies of Almora district.

  • Someshwar: Work on most of the 90 announcements here is ongoing, but the CM asked to speed up the work on health and education.
  • Salt: 69 announcements here were reviewed. Instructions were given to complete the pending works of tourism and rural development soon.
  • Ranikhet and Jageshwar: 33 announcements of Ranikhet and 48 announcements of Jageshwar were discussed. Emphasis was laid on rapidly developing Jageshwar as a religious and tourist centre.

development with resolution without options

The Chief Minister clearly warned the officials to come to important meetings only with complete information and facts. He said, “Every promise made to the public must be fulfilled at all costs.” The aim of the government is to reach the benefits of the schemes to the people sitting at the farthest end of the state. Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan and Principal Secretary R.K. were present in the meeting. Many senior officers including Sudhanshu were present.
