Till the time of writing the news, BJP is said to be ahead on 210 seats in the West Bengal Assembly elections. This figure includes seats won and lead. No one had expected the kind of flag that BJP has hoisted in West Bengal. Many people were believing that BJP could win the West Bengal elections this time, but hardly anyone could have guessed that it would cross the 200 seat mark and get two-thirds majority. The reason for this is that there was a big difference in the vote share of Mamata Banerjee’s TMC and BJP in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, BJP had secured about 37 percent votes. It had won 77 seats. Whereas, Mamata Banerjee’s TMC had won 215 seats with 48 percent votes. This time too, Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee were claiming that TMC would again get more than 200 seats, but their claim was reversed and BJP reached this figure. Mamata Banerjee became the CM of West Bengal for the first time in 2011. This time TMC leaders were claiming that Mamata would become CM for the fourth time, but this claim of theirs has also been blown away due to the huge support of the public towards BJP.
