Election results of five states including West Bengal are coming. To a great extent, the picture has become clear as to whose government is going to be formed in these states. This time BJP will form the government in Bengal.

New Delhi: The results and trends of the assembly elections 2026 of five states including West Bengal have brought a big change in the politics of the country. According to preliminary data, the position of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has strengthened, while the challenges facing the opposition INDIA alliance have increased in many states.

BJP’s historic lead in Bengal

This time the political equations in West Bengal have surprised everyone. According to the latest trends, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on 194 seats in the state, while it has already won 4 seats. The protest signals a major change in the politics of the state, where the Trinamool Congress, which has been in power for a long time, has faced a tough challenge.

NDA returns in Assam and Puducherry

In Assam too, BJP has performed strongly and the party is leading on 73 seats, while it has won 8 seats. From this it is clear that NDA government is going to be formed again in the state. The return of the NDA alliance is considered certain in Puducherry also, where the BJP-backed alliance is moving towards majority.

This time a big political change has been seen in Tamil Nadu. Thalapathy Vijay, under the leadership of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), has performed brilliantly and is leading on 106 seats. This is considered a big blow to the traditional Dravidian parties in the state. In Kerala, the Congress-led UDF alliance is leading and appears to be in a position to form the government.

New number of NDA ruled states in the country

If the current trends change in the results, the number of governments led by NDA and its allies in the country may increase to 21 states.
NDA’s position can be understood like this-

  • BJP ruled states (independently): About 15
  • Government with coalition partners: 6 states
  • Overall NDA influence: 21 states

INDIA ALLIANCE STATUS

The situation of the opposition INDIA alliance looks mixed after this election. At present the states under its main influence are as follows –

  • Karnataka
  • Telangana
  • Himachal Pradesh

Apart from this, there is a coalition government in Jharkhand with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), while Congress has limited influence in some states. According to experts, these results have increased organizational and strategic challenges for the INDIA alliance. Political analysts believe that BJP and NDA have achieved this lead on the basis of strong grassroots network, digital campaign and development agenda in the states. Along with this, alliance with regional parties has also strengthened his hold.
