While Hammad Mirza and Jiten Ramanandi made 83 and 91, respectively, their dismissals triggered a collapse as they crashed to a heavy 54-run loss. But Jatinder Singh has been in amazing form with the bat, clattering 759 runs, while Shakeel Ahmed has been their leading wicket-taker with 47 scalps.
As for Nepal, they managed to hold off the same opposition by 6 runs via the DLS method. With Nepal making 289 in their stipulated 50 overs on the back of Dipendra Singh Airee’s 94-ball 100, UAE were set a stiff task. Despite the loss of Muhammad Waseem for 1, UAE were going at a decent rate as Muhammad Shahdad scored a polished 65. Khuzaima Tanveer fought tooth and nail with a 26-ball 49. Nevertheless, rain interrupted their progress when UAE were 248/8 in 38 overs, making them fall six runs short of where they needed to be. With the match unable to resume, Nepal won.
