New Delhi. BJP has got a massive victory in West Bengal and with this, BJP government is going to be formed for the first time in the state. After the results of the assembly elections, discussions have started regarding the swearing in of the new government and the name of the new Chief Minister of the state. Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya has said that the swearing in of the BJP government will take place on May 9. Actually, May 9 is the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and that is why it was already expected that BJP could choose this special day for the swearing in of its government. The date of oath taking in Bengal may be announced after the meeting of BJP top leadership in Delhi. Two women are also included in the names being discussed for the post of Chief Minister.

Shubhendu Adhikari:

BJP’s Subhendu Adhikari, who defeated Mamata Banerjee in her stronghold in two consecutive elections, is considered to be the strongest contender for the post of Chief Minister in Bengal. This time Shubhendu had contested elections from Bhawanipur against Mamata Banerjee and he won there. Whereas in 2011, Subhendu Adhikari had defeated Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram.

Dr. Sukant Majumdar:

The name of Dr. Sukant Majumdar is also in discussion for the post of CM. He is a two-time MP from Balurghat Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal and is currently also a Minister of State in the Central Government. Before this, he had also been the President of BJP in West Bengal.

Dilip Ghosh:

The name of Dilip Ghosh, who started his political journey as a Sangh campaigner, is also in the list of possible Chief Ministers. His name is taken among the veteran leaders of BJP in West Bengal. Ghosh has also been the state BJP president.

Agnimitra Paul:

Prominent woman leader of BJP in West Bengal, Agnimitra Paul is also in the race for the post of CM. Presently he is MLA from Asansol South seat. She has also been the President of BJP Mahila Morcha in West Bengal.

Roopa Ganguly:

The name of famous Hindi and Bengali cinema actress Roopa Ganguly, who became famous in every household by playing the role of Draupadi in the Mahabharata serial, is also among the possible candidates for the post of CM. She has also been a Rajya Sabha MP and president of BJP Mahila Morcha in West Bengal.
