The 33-year-old leg-spinner opened his account by dismissing debutant Akshat Raghuvanshi in his second IPL match. As Raghu’s ball did not hit the bat properly, he took an easy catch and returned to the pavilion.

After taking the wicket, Raghu Sharma celebrated in a unique way. He took out a note from his pocket and showed it to the camera. The note read, “15 painful years. By Gurudev’s grace, it’s all over today. Thank you Mumbai Indians (Blue and Gold) for giving me this opportunity. I will always be grateful. Jai Shri Ram.” This one note expressed his entire struggle. After years of hard work in domestic cricket, it was a very special moment for him to get a chance in the IPL and take his first wicket.

Earlier, Raghu was included in the playing eleven in the match against Chennai Super Kings but failed to take a single wicket. Career of Raghu
Born in Jalandhar, Raghu Sharma’s cricketing journey was not easy. Since his debut in 2017, he has played only 30 matches in first-class, List A and T20 cricket combined. He excelled in domestic cricket, particularly in the Ranji Trophy, taking 57 wickets in 12 matches. In 2025, By Mumbai Indians He was signed as a mid-season replacement. Earlier he worked as a net bowler with the team. Hard work and perseverance eventually earned him a spot in the IPL.
