Why Kyle Jamieson and Ramakrishna Ghosh are not playing today’s DC vs CSK match at Arun Jaitley Stadium?
Two players who have featured for their respective sides earlier in IPL 2026 are missing from today’s DC vs CSK encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Kyle Jamieson is out of the Delhi Capitals XI and Ramakrishna Ghosh is absent from Chennai Super Kings after making his IPL debut in a recent game. Both changes were confirmed at the toss and here is the full picture on each.
Why Kyle Jamieson is not playing for DC vs CSK
Axar Patel confirmed at the toss that Lungi Ngidi comes in for Kyle Jamieson as the one change DC have made for today’s game. No specific injury or fitness concern was mentioned for Jamieson suggesting this is a tactical decision rather than a forced change.
Ngidi has been one of DC’s most reliable bowling options through IPL 2026 and his return to the XI gives Axar a bowler who can swing the ball early and take wickets in the powerplay.
Axar chose to bat first noting that the pitch might slow in the second innings and Ngidi’s ability to exploit the conditions both with the new ball early and with pace off in the middle overs makes him the preferred option over Jamieson for a game where DC’s bowling attack needs to be at its best. Jamieson remains available from the Impact Sub options if the match situation demands his services later.
DC vs CSK: Why Ramakrishna Ghosh is not playing for Chennai
Ruturaj Gaikwad confirmed at the toss that CSK have been forced into changes because Ramakrishna Ghosh has been injured. Ghosh made his IPL debut in CSK’s most recent game and the injury picked up during or after that match has ruled him out of today’s fixture.
Gaikwad noted it prompted a significant reshuffle with Akeal Hosein and Gurjapneet Singh both coming into the XI as the two changes. Hosein’s left-arm spin returns to the playing eleven having been dropped for the previous match and Gurjapneet Singh’s left-arm pace gives CSK an extra bowling option on what Gaikwad described as a dry pitch that might assist the spinners and slower bowlers as the game progresses.
Ghosh’s absence is a blow for CSK but Gaikwad was broadly positive at the toss noting the team has improved significantly across all departments since the opening three matches of the season and the youngsters who have been given opportunities have repaid the faith shown by the management.
