UP’s Leprosy Pension Scheme, a support for the needy
Leprosy Pension Scheme of Uttar Pradesh Government is being run with the aim of providing financial support to the weakest sections of the society. Under this scheme, regular financial assistance is given to the people affected by leprosy and disabled by it, so that they can live a respectable life and not depend on others.
Get assistance of Rs 3000 every month
The biggest feature of this scheme is that a pension of Rs 3000 is given every month to the eligible beneficiaries. This amount is transferred directly to their bank account, which maintains transparency and reduces the scope for any kind of delay or corruption.
Who can avail the benefits of the scheme
Some necessary conditions have been set to avail the benefits of this scheme.
– Applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh
– It is necessary to be affected by leprosy and disabled by it.
– Must be within the income limit (low income group preferred)
– Not taking benefit of any other pension scheme

The special thing about this scheme is that there is no age limit in it. That is, a person of any age group, if he is affected by leprosy and fulfills the eligibility, can apply for pension.
Easy online application process
The government has also simplified the application process. Interested persons can apply through online portal. Documents like Aadhar card, income certificate, bank account and medical certificate are necessary for the application.

According to state government data, thousands of leprosy patients have benefited from this scheme in the last few years. In 2025-26 alone, a large number of beneficiaries were given pension on time, which has improved their standard of living.
