Iran has formed the ‘Persian Gulf Strait Authority’ (PGSA) on 5 May 2026. Now all ships passing through this route will have to contact through info@PGSA.ir email ID and get information about transit rules. No vessel will be allowed passage without a permit.

  • Fixed route: IRGC official Yadollah Javani has said that the ships will have to move only on designated routes.
  • Tight control: Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bakar Qalibaf said that the movement of ships will depend entirely on Iran’s military forces and national interests.
