Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Main Actor Nahin Hoon’ set for 100-screen metro release on May 8

The upcoming film Main Actor Nahin Hoonstarring Nawazuddin Siddiqui,moved towards a wider theatrical release as reports confirmed that it was planned to release across around 100 screens in major metro cities on May 8.

The film was made on a limited budget of around ₹ 1.5 crore, but it still secured a multi-city release plan. It was expected to be screened in cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Pune.

The project was directed by Aditya Kriplani and produced by Faizuddin Siddiqui under Side Hero Entertainment. It was also noted for being shot in both Mumbai and Frankfurt, Germany, giving it an international setting with a small crew.

A source said, “Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Main Actor Nahin Hoon stands out as one of his most ambitious small-budget films, yet it is releasing across 100 theatres in major cities.”

The story followed a retired banker who dreamed of becoming an actor and connected online with a professional performer to get acting skills. The film featured actors including Chitrangada Satarupa, Naveen Kasturia, and Ayushi Gupta.

Director Aditya Kriplani said, “It is a film about acting, so reaching a respected institute is a meaningful moment for us.”

The makers also planned a special screening for students and alumni of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute on June 24.
