70-year-old groom, 20-year-old new bride… SP leader married for the fourth time in Ghaziabad, second wife reached the police station and created ruckus

Ghaziabad: The fourth marriage of a SP leader in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh has created a stir in the entire area. 70 year old Haji Khalil is married to 20 year old Yasmin. After this news came to light, his second wife Nazreen reached the Police Commissioner’s office and lodged a complaint of harassment and fraud.

Controversy started on fourth marriage

Haji Khalil is a resident of Kaila Bhatta area and has been a former councilor. He recently married 20 year old girl Yasmin for the fourth time. After this marriage, discord in the family increased. Second wife Nazreen alleged that Khalil was trying to take over her property.

Nazreen says that they got married in 1991. At that time Haji Khalil had hidden that he already had a first wife and eight children. He has three children with Nazarene.

Allegation of fraud in 1991

Nazreen told the police that Khalil had married for the second time in 1991, hiding the truth of his first marriage. Later in the year 2010, he also married for the third time, but divorced that wife after not having children. Now after the fourth marriage, a new dispute has arisen regarding property.

War broke out over Mehar’s property

Nazreen’s main allegation is that Haji Khalil and new bride Yasmeen have their eyes on the property which they had received as dowry. He alleged that both were conspiring together. On protesting, efforts are being made to throw him and his son out of the house. The woman has demanded protection from the police, citing threat to her life and that of her children.

Political history of Haji Khalil

Haji Khalil is an old player of local politics of Ghaziabad. He has been councilor from Islamnagar ward in 1995 and 2000. He has already been accused of illegal occupation of Municipal Corporation land.

Police started investigation. After the complaint was registered in the Police Commissioner’s office, investigation into the matter has been started. Police officials said that the complaint has been received and appropriate action will be taken after investigation.
