IPL 2026: Amidst the excitement of the half season of the Indian Premier League 2026, BCCI has announced the venues along with the dates of the playoffs and finals. Earlier, only league stage matches were announced. Now BCCI announced the schedule and venue of the playoff and final on Wednesday, May 6. It was expected that the final match of IPL 2026 could be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru this time, but RCB fans have got a big shock. Actually, BCCI has decided to hold the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, on which Karnataka Cricket Association has expressed disappointment.
The final match of IPL 2026 will not be played in RCB’s home ground.
After the announcement of the venue of the playoff and final match of IPL 2026, Karnataka Cricket Association President and former Indian player Venkatesh Prasad issued a statement. He has informed in his official statement that he himself was in constant personal touch with BCCI regarding this issue.

Venkatesh Prasad said that we had also formally informed BCCI to host the IPL playoff matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The management has done much better in the matches hosted at Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026, for which we have appreciated it. This also strengthened our claim to host the playoffs and finals. We understand that BCCI has decided to hold big matches at other venues. However, no official information was given to KSCA regarding the reason behind this. However, we still fully respect this decision taken by BCCI.
The final was expected to be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Chinnaswamy Stadium, the home ground of Royal Challengers Bangalore, was expected to host the final of IPL 2026 because in most of the seasons in IPL, it has been seen that the final match is organized at the home ground of the defending champion team. However, this has been seen only in a few seasons of IPL. Now most of the final matches are being held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
