‘Despite being Sports Minister, remained limited to only tea and biscuits’, Manoj Tiwari’s sharp attack on Mamata government

New Delhi. Former cricketer and former Sports Minister of West Bengal Manoj Tiwari has made serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress Government. In a video released on social media, he claimed that while he was a minister, he was not allowed to work properly for the last five years.

Tiwari directly targeted TMC leader Arup Biswas, saying that he was constantly sidelined due to fear of his popularity and image. He said that while in the sports department, his role was limited to just “eating tea and biscuits”.

The former minister said, “I come from the sports world and wanted to do a lot for the players, but I was not even invited to any program.” He alleged that despite being present on the field in big tournaments like the Durand Cup, he was not given an official invitation.

  • Questions were also raised regarding Messi’s program

Referring to an event related to football star Lionel Messi, Manoj Tiwari said that he deliberately did not attend that event because he had a premonition that there could be chaos there. He claimed that even sports fans felt embarrassed at that event and Messi left the event within minutes.

Tiwari said that from these incidents it can be estimated what kind of situations he faced in the sports department. He accused the state government of working with “narrow mindedness” and said the government kept giving priority to its own interests over those of the public.

    Mamta Banerjee also targeted

Referring to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the former minister said that when she tried to put forward her point, she was ignored. According to Tiwari, the Chief Minister had asked him, “Don’t I have any other work?” And he was not even given enough time to present his views. He claimed that on the same day he had realized that this government was not going to last long, as its foundation was based on “false promises”.

This statement of Manoj Tiwari has now become a topic of new discussion in the politics of West Bengal. Especially at a time when questions are constantly being raised regarding sports administration and political tussle in the state.
