pee in the open and lose your respect
Somewhere on the streets of every city in India, there is definitely a place where people urinate in the open. Even if there is no designated place, people often find some place to urinate. This habit causes a lot of trouble and trouble to other people passing by, especially women.
change people’s thinking
To solve this problem effectively, it is very important to bring about a fundamental change in the thinking of people. The Mysore administration of Karnataka has come up with a unique trick which forces people to think twice before urinating in the open. This is an idea that has gained tremendous popularity among the public. As soon as the videos of this initiative went viral, people flooded social media with various comments and reactions.
Administration installed glass walls
In a unique initiative aimed at curbing the habit of open urination near empty walls and eliminating the foul smell, Mysore Municipal Corporation has started a special ‘Glass Wall’ project near Mysore Central Bus Stand.
Under this project, extremely shiny stainless steel sheets that look exactly like real mirrors have been installed on an 80 meter long wall just in front of the rural bus stand. These bright surfaces are designed in such a way that any person standing in front of the wall can not only see their reflection clearly but can also clearly see it to other people present nearby.
The purpose of coming out in front of everyone in this way is to create hesitation and fear in the minds of people so that they avoid urinating in the open. LED lights have also been installed around these glowing surfaces which automatically light up in the evening along with the streetlights.
Civic sense is necessary
After the video went viral, a debate has erupted regarding civic sense, especially the act of urinating in public places. Commenting on this video on ‘X’, a user said that there is no need for ‘selective development’ but what people really need is civic sense.
