Fan Assaulted At SRH Vs PBKS: Phone Stolen By Female Bouncer

The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium was buzzing on 6 May 2026 as Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Punjab Kings in a massive game for the top spot. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first, hoping his bowlers could snap their losing streak against a tough SRH batting order.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got the home team off to a flyer, taking advantage of every loose ball throughout the power play. Even under pressure, the Punjab spinners managed to pull things back in the middle overs, keeping the target reachable for their aggressive middle-order hitters, but SRH still won the game by 33 runs.

SRH vs PBKS: A night of sixes and stadium sorrows

While the players fought it out on the field, a disturbing scene in the stands ended up overshadowing the cricket for many fans. A spectator named Gautam later went to social media to talk about a rough experience where he was physically harassed and had his property taken.

He had left his seat to grab a drink during a break in play, only to run into a female bouncer who reportedly started an argument for no reason. Feeling threatened by how aggressively she was behaving, Gautam pulled out his phone to record the interaction for his own protection.

This move led to a violent reaction from the staff member, who allegedly lunged at him and grabbed the phone out of his hands. The bouncer then ran out of the stadium gates with the phone, leaving the confused fan without any help from nearby security.

Gautam claims the employee kept his phone for over thirty minutes, trying to get past his lock screen to delete the video of her behaviour. He has since accused the venue management of negligence and reported the individual for theft, assault, and property damage.

Incidents like this really hurt the IPL’s reputation, as fans expect to be safe when they’re paying premium prices for tickets. While the league promises world-class entertainment, this specific SRH vs PBKS match showed how quickly security failures can ruin the experience for fans.
