Another major national achievement has been added to the name of King George Medical University (KGMU), located in the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Surya Kant of KGMU has been entrusted with an important responsibility. Dr. Surya Kant has been appointed Chairman of the ‘TB ICU National Expert Committee’.
Let us tell you, this committee will work under the Union Health Ministry and National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP). Under the chairmanship of Dr. Surya Kant, this committee will prepare SOP and new guidelines for the treatment of serious TB patients in medical colleges across the country. With this initiative, the TB ICU system in medical colleges will be further strengthened.
Important contribution in TB free India mission
Dr. Surya Kant has been given this responsibility for his excellent work in the field of TB eradication. He has not only brought India international recognition in the field of drug-resistant TB, but has also personally adopted more than 500 TB patients and successfully treated them.
