Massoud Pezeshkian has praised the working style and behavior of Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei after a long meeting. According to state media Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the meeting lasted for about two and a half hours.
Pejeshkian said that what impressed him most during the meeting was Khamenei’s polite, cordial and trust-building demeanor. He said that the supreme leader’s style of communication was such that it transformed the entire atmosphere into one of trust, peace, empathy and open dialogue.
According to the Iranian President, various national and regional issues were discussed in detail in the meeting. He said Khamenei’s “deeply soulful approach” would strengthen better coordination between the government and leadership.
Mojtaba Khamenei has made little public appearance since being appointed supreme leader in early March. He was injured in the joint attack by America and Israel on 28 February. His father and former supreme leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the same attack.
However, only limited information has been revealed at the official level regarding this attack and the circumstances related to it. After the change of leadership in Iran, the world is keeping an eye on the regional politics and security situation.
This meeting is considered very important amid the decreasing tension on Hormuz. That too when America announced to stop Project Freedom. On May 4 itself, on the orders of US President Donald Trump, ‘Project Freedom’ was started to start the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
