Now there will be no need for OTP again and again, Public Wi-Fi will work with one login in the entire country.
Public WiFi Free For India: In today’s time, Wi-Fi has become a necessity for everyone, hence the use of free Wi-Fi in railway station, mall, park or public library is a common thing. But people find it difficult to go to a different place every time to enter OTP and login. But now the Government of India has also found a solution to this problem. The government is soon going to bring such a high-tech system, through which once you login, you will be able to easily use the internet on more than 4 lakh public Wi-Fi hotspots across the country. Which simply means that enter the password once and use high-speed internet anywhere.
TRAI started big preparations
To give complete information about this new technology, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI has released a new consultation paper working on it. In which it is clearly stated that the purpose of their work is to remove the shortcomings of the PM-WANI system and to make public internet access easier and more secure.
However, if we look at the current situation, the user has to re-register at every new Wi-Fi hotspot in India. But after the arrival of this special and new system, you have to enter OTP or password only once and you will be able to easily connect to all the supported public Wi-Fi networks across the country.
UPI and banking will also be more secure
The government has informed that to make this system secure, WPA3 i.e. Wi-Fi Protected Access 3 security standard will be used in it. Which can make digital payments, UPI transactions and online banking done through your phone more secure than before.
Experts have also given their opinion regarding this new technology, in which they say that this step will prove helpful in strengthening people’s trust amid increasing cyber fraud. Due to which the users using public network will benefit.
High-speed internet will reach villages
TRAI wants to take this special scheme not only to cities but also to villages which will promote the community Wi-Fi model. Due to which internet facilities will be available to more people at less cost. At the same time, with new technology, operators will get a new option of earning in employment. The entire technology in which models like advertisement based free internet, premium high-speed data plans and government financial assistance are also being included.

India is still far behind
If we look at the current picture of India, only 2% of the 140 crore population in India use public WiFi. But on the other hand, in a country like South Korea, this figure is 80% and in America it is around 70%. In this context, former BSNL Chairman Arun Srivastava has said that with the introduction of this system, the Internet can be made cheaper and the increasing data load on the mobile network can also be reduced. In such a situation, if this plan of the government is successful, India’s internet experience will completely change in the coming time.
