Rahul Dholakia reacts to delay in Vijay’s Tamil Nadu CM appointment
The political discussion around Vijay taking oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu continued after Indian filmmaker Rahul Dholakia reacted to the delay in the process.
The issue had gained attention after Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), emerged as a major force in the Assembly elections. The party had secured 108 seats in the 234-member House, while its alliance had reached 113 seats with Congress support, still short of the required majority mark.
Rahul Dholakia had shared his views on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He stated that the mandate of the people should be respected. He wrote, “Clearly the people of Tamil Nadu prefer @actorvijay over most others — so he should be given the first chance. Details should be a formality not an obstacle.”
The delay had come after reports suggested that the Governor had asked for written support from at least 118 MLAs before inviting Vijay to form the government. This development had led to further political debate within the state.

In another reaction, actor Prakash Raj had also raised concerns and said that the mandate of the public should be respected.
Prakash wrote, “This Governor’s behaviour is disgusting, unacceptable and unconstitutional.”
He further added, “We may have differences, but Vijay has got the mandate. He should be allowed to claim his right on the floor of the House.”
Meanwhile, Vijay’s upcoming film projects also stayed in the spotlight following his political success. Reports said the Varisu actor expected to focus more on politics after the elections.
