Increased trust in AI for health information, 1 in every 4 people is using it
Knews Desk-In today’s digital era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not limited to just chatting or working, but now people are also increasingly using it for information related to their health. A recent study has claimed that one out of every four people is using AI tools to get answers to health related questions. In this, people are asking questions related to symptoms of disease, diet plan, information about medicines and mental health.
Increasing dominance of AI
This increase in the use of AI is mainly due to its easy availability and ability to respond immediately. People are now preferring to get preliminary information from AI before going to the doctor for small health questions. This trend is being seen especially among those people who want information quickly and in simple language.
However, experts believe that it is not right to rely only on AI for health related information. According to medicine, the health condition of every person is different and only the doctor can decide the right treatment. AI can provide general information, but it cannot be a substitute for medical examination and expert advice.
Starting treatment based on AI may worsen the situation

Sometimes AI provides incomplete or general information, which can increase the risk of misunderstanding or taking wrong decisions. This risk becomes even higher especially in cases related to serious diseases, medicines or mental health. If a person starts treatment only on the basis of AI, the situation may worsen. Therefore, doctors advise that in case of any serious symptoms or health problem, it is important to immediately contact a specialist. The information received from AI should be seen only as a preliminary guide, not as a final decision.
Safe use of AI is possible only when people use it in a limited manner. It should be used only for general information and the doctor’s opinion should take priority for any medical decision. Only this method can ensure safe and correct health management in the digital age.
