Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies set for spell on the sidelines due to injury

Alphonso Davies is set to be out of action for several weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Bayern Munich’s UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain, the club have confirmed.

Canada international Davies was a second-half substitute as Bayern were knocked out by PSG at the Allianz Arena, replacing Josip Stanišić in the 68th minute. He provided the assist for Harry Kane’s late equaliser in the 1-1 draw, but is now set to miss several weeks of action.

While Bayern did not confirm the exact length of his absence, he is expected to miss the Bavarians’ remaining two Bundesliga fixtures against Wolfsburg and Cologne, and could also be out for the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart on 23 May.

This is Davies’ third injury of the season, having missed the start of the campaign with a cruciate ligament tear before also having problems with his hamstring back in March.

There is currently no indication as to whether this injury will affect Davies’ participation at the FIFA 2026 World Cup in North America this summer.
