Finn Allen Slams Maiden IPL Ton as KKR Seal 8-Wicket Win Against Delhi Capitals
A blazing century from Finn Allen has set up Kolkata Knight Riders’ dominant 8-wicket win against Delhi Capitals on May 08 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
His maiden IPL century comes from a six, which also completed the chase and sealed the fourth win for KKR in the season. By this win, Kolkata Knight Riders secured fifth position in the IPL 2026 points table.
After being invited to bat first, KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka opened the innings while Anukul Roy opened the bowling attack.
The opener duo made a solid start, scoring 49 runs for the first wicket. However, Kartik Tyagi brought a crucial breakthrough, dismissing in-form KL Rahul for 23 runs. He got dismissed on a slower length delivery where he hit the ball in the air towards mid-on with Cameron Green taking the catch.
Nitish Rana who came to bat at No.3 joined Pathum Nissanka as Delhi Capitals scored 55 runs in the powerplay.
Cameron Green who deliveried the 8th over, bagged the wicket of Nitish Rana for 3 runs. He was dismissed on a slower short delivery where the ball goes off the gloves to the short fine where Sunil Narine picked an easy catch.
Sameer Rizvi who came to bat at No.4, lost his wicket to Sunil Narine, after slog sweeping the bal in the air towards deep mid-wicket and Rovman Powell took the catch.
However, Delhi Capitals had a relief as Pathum Nissanka posted his fifty on 28 deliveries. To add the woes, Anukul Roy striked twice bagging the wicket of Pathum Nissanka for 50. He was dismissed on a stumping after missing the wide outside off delivery and Raghuvanshi made a quick stumping.
In the same over, Anukul Roy bagged the wicket of Tristan Stubbs as Delhi Captials lost five wickets for 89 runs.

However, Axar Patel and Ashutosh Sharma did give some relief as their partnership setup the side cross 100 run mark.
Vaibhav Arora bagged the wicket of Axar Patel for 11 runs while Ashutosh Shama made a brilliant cameo scoring 39 runs off 28 deliveries before being dismissed by Kartik Tyagi.
On the other hand, Mitchell Starc got dismissed on a run out and with Vipraj Nigam and Lungi Ngidi at crease, Delhi Capitals scored 142 runs in their 20 over innings.
Kartik Tyagi and Anukul Roy bagged two wickets each while Sunil Narine, vaibhav Arora and Cameron Green bagged one wicket each.
Chasing 143 runs, Finn Allen and Ajinkya Rahane opened the innings while, Mitchell Starc opened the bowling attack.
Despite a solid start, Ajnkya Rahane got dismissed on a run out for 13 runs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi who came to bat at No.3, got bowled out after attempting for a sweep and the ball flicks his gloves and rolls over to the stumps.
With Finn Allen and Cameron Green at crease, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 43 runs in the powerplay.
The duo went on to complete the chase in the 15th over. Finn Allen remained unbeaten with 100* runs off 47 while Cameron Green scored 33 runs.
Kolkata Knight Riders will play their next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 13 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala.
