Lord Jagannath’s Blessings Helped BJP Achieve The Impossible In Bengal, Says Odisha CM Mohan Majhi

Kolkata: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said in Kolkata on Friday that the blessings of Lord Jagannath had helped the BJP win a historic mandate in West Bengal.

Majhi, who was named party’s co-observer alongside central observer Amit Shah for the election of legislative party’s leader in West Bengal, addressed the party’s newly-elected MLAs.

“From 3 seats in 2016 to 207 in 2026 is a remarkable journey for the BJP… I want to thank Lord Jagannath for this massive victory.. His blessings helped turn the impossible to possible.. Ma Kali also showered her blessings,” Majhi said.

The Odisha CM remarked that there’s not much difference between Bengal and Odisha. “Our people consider Kolkata as the second home,” he said.

Majhi personally congratulated Suvendu Adhikari, as well as on Odisha people’s behalf, for being named West Bengal CM.

“The determination with which Suvendu ji fought is commendable.. I want to acknowledge other state leaders also for showing not only people of Bengal but also the country how to fight against atrocities, corruption and injustice,” Majhi added.

He expressed confidence that a stable and good government will be formed under Suvendu as BJP prepares to rule Bengal for the first time after securing 207 seats in the 294-member Assembly.

Majhi observed that he had campaigned across six constituencies in West Bengal, of which five were won by the BJP.
