Meanwhile, a special hydrogen version of Suzuki Swift has been revealed, which has sparked a new discussion about future cars. The special thing is that this is not a fuel cell car, but a Swift running on a hydrogen engine. It was recently presented at the 47th International Vienna Motor Symposium, where this concept car attracted a lot of attention.

Hydrogen Suzuki Swift
This particular Hydrogen Swift is based on the second generation Swift. It has been developed by Austrian powertrain company AVL in collaboration with Suzuki. At present, most Hydrogen cars use Fuel Cell technology, but this Swift has internal combustion engine i.e. ICE technology.

Design more practical
This means that the car produces power by burning hydrogen directly in the engine. This system is not considered as efficient as Fuel Cell, but its cost is lower and its design is said to be more practical.

Powerful engine and more power
This Hydrogen Swift has a 1.4-litre Direct Injection Hydrogen engine. AVL has specially tuned this engine to deliver better performance and lower emissions.

High mileage and low emissions
Lean-Burn and Lambda=1 Stoichiometric Combustion modes have been provided in the car. If you understand in simple language, one mode focuses on more mileage and less emissions, while the other is designed to give more power.

Horsepower
This Hydrogen engine generates 134 horsepower and 220 Nm torque. It is considered to be more powerful than the normal Lean-Burn setup.

No plans to launch yet
Although this Hydrogen Swift has garnered a lot of discussion, Suzuki is not currently preparing to launch it in the market. The company has clarified that as of now there are no plans to launch this model in both Europe and Japan markets.
