2 star players of Team India got NADA notice, know the whole matter

Desk. There was a stir in Indian cricket when the news of the National Anti-Doping Agency i.e. NADA issuing notice to young star batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal and women’s team’s explosive opener Shafali Verma came to light. Both the players are accused of not being available during the scheduled dope test last year, due to which the first wearabouts failure has been registered against them.

According to the information, both the players are part of NADA’s Registered Testing Pool i.e. RTP. Players participating in RTP are required to share their location information with the anti-doping agency and be available for testing at the scheduled time. It is being told that Yashasvi and Shefali did not give any clear reason for the missed test, after which a notice was sent to them.

  • A source said that notices have been issued to the players concerned and this information has also been given to BCCI and ICC. However, NADA did not comment on the matter citing confidentiality of the process.

A BCCI source also confirmed this matter. He said that yes, we have received information about missed test from NADA. We will ask them how this happened and will take necessary steps to ensure that such things do not happen in future. Cricket is now back in the Olympics and we have to follow all the protocols so that everything runs smoothly. This statement was made in the context of the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Currently, Yashasvi Jaiswal is playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, while Shafali Verma was part of the Indian women’s team that recently toured South Africa. Players participating in RTP are required to be available for testing during a specified time frame every day. If a player misses a test three times, it is considered a violation of doping rules and may result in action such as suspension.
