Rashid Khan Strikes Twice In An Over As Royals Lose Cluster Of Wickets In 230-Run Chase

A brilliant spell from Rashid Khan has troubled the Rajasthan Royals in the 230-run chase in the IPL 2026 game played on May 09 at Jaipur.

He picked the wickets of Dhruv Jurel and Donovan Ferreira in the single over, putting the Gujarat Titans on defending their total.

After being invited to bat first, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack.

With an expensive first over with 9 extras, the Gujarat Titans gained momentum and forged a partnership as the side scored 82 runs in the powerplay.

By the end of powerplay, Shubman Gill scored 32* runs off 15 deliveries while Sai Sudharsan added 39* runs off 22 deliveries.

Sai Sudharsan made his fifty off 30 deliveries and set up a solid start of Gujarat Titans. Soon, Shubman Gill have smashed his fifty off 30 deliveries as Rajasthan Royals bowlers are in hunt for wickets. The duo forged a 118-run partnership for the first wicket.

However, Sai Sudharsan lost his wicket to Yash Punja for 55 runs where he hit the ball in the air towards long off and Jofra Archer picked a safe catch. His knock included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Ravindra Jadeja bagged the wicket of Jos Buttler for 13 runs. He got dismissed on long-off where Donovan Ferreira picked the catch. Brijesh Sharma bagged the crucial wicket of Shubman Gill for 84 runs.

With Washington Sundar and Jason Holder at crease, Gujarat Titans crossed 200 run mark. Brijesh Sharma bagged his secon wicket dismissing Jason Holder for 7 runs.

With Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia at crease, Gujarat Titans scored 229/4 in their 20 over innings.

Brijesh Sharma bagged two wickets while Yash Raj Punja and Ravindra Jadeja bagged one wicket each.

Chasing 230 run target, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings while, Mohammed siraj opened the bowling attack.

Despite a solid start from 15 year old, Mohammed Siraj bagged his wicket for 36 runs. He got dismissed on a catch from Arshan Khan in short fine. Dhruv Jurel who came to bat at No.3 joined Jaiswal aiming to stabilise the innings in the chase.

On the other hand, Kagiso Rabada bagged the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 3 runs. His dismissal came from a catch from Nishant Sindhu at extra cover.

Hetmyer who came to bat at no.4, got dismissed by Rabada for 6 runs. With Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja at crease Rajasthan Royals scored 78 runs in the powerplay.

Rashid Khan striked twice in a single over dismissing Dhruv Jurel and Donovan Ferreira for 24 and 4 runs respectively.
