Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora’s problems increase in financial transaction case, court gives 7 days remand to ED

Chandigarh:The troubles of Punjab Local Government Minister Sanjeev Arora have now increased further. After a long interrogation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested him and presented him in the court, where the court sent him on seven-day ED remand.

In this case related to financial transactions and land deals, ED told the court that the investigation is still in the initial stage and in-depth interrogation of Sanjeev Arora is necessary to reach many important facts. The politics of Punjab has also heated up regarding the matter and allegations and counter-allegations have intensified between the ruling party and the opposition.

The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday arrested Punjab government minister Sanjeev Arora after interrogating him for several hours. After this he was produced in the court, where the agency sought remand.

ED says that money trail, land related deals and alleged financial transactions are being investigated in depth in the case.

ED claimed in the court that during the investigation, many important documents, digital records and inputs related to financial transactions have come to light.

The agency said that to connect the links of these facts and understand the entire network, it is very important to interrogate Sanjeev Arora face to face. Besides, the role of some other people has also been said to be included in the scope of investigation.

According to sources, during remand, ED may interrogate Sanjeev Arora regarding some projects related to Chandigarh, Mohali and Ludhiana.

Apart from this, the agency will also answer questions regarding alleged shell companies and property transactions. Some businessmen and officials are also expected to be summoned for questioning in the case.
