Womens T20 World Cup: Bangladesh has announced its team for the Women’s T20 World Cup. 15-member players have been announced under the captaincy of Nigar Sultana. Nigar Sultana will captain Bangladesh in the third consecutive World T20.
The Women’s T20 World Cup will be played in England from 12 June to 5 July 2026. Bangladesh’s top order batsman Taj Nehar has returned for this tournament. While Sarmin Sultana has been dropped.
Bangladesh team will leave for Edinburgh on 25th May. There the team will play a triangular series with Scotland and Netherlands. After this, warm-up matches of T20 World Cup will be played. In the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh is in Group 1 along with Netherlands, Australia, Pakistan, India and South Africa. The team will play its first match against Netherlands on 14 June at Edgbaston.

The team’s chief selector Sajjad Ahmed said that Nehar has been given priority over Sarmin because of his versatility. Nehar can bat from number 1 to number 6 in the batting order. She has the ability to score runs quickly in the last overs.
Nigar Sultana will captain the World Cup for the third time
Nigar Sultana, who captained the team in the 2023 and 2024 editions, this time has a mix of experienced players along with young players. Fahima Khatoon is included as an experienced player, who is ready to play her seventh T20 World Cup. Apart from Fahima, Nahida Akhtar, Ritu Moni, and Captain Nigar are part of the team since 2016.
