The Family Business Season 7 Release Date: When will new season drop? Here’s everything we know so far

The Family Business Season 7 has not been officially renewed or given a release date as of May 2026.

Carl Weber’s The Family Business is a long-running BET+ crime drama (with linear airings on BET) following the wealthy Duncan family, who run a legitimate exotic car dealership in New York while secretly involved in a high-stakes criminal underworld. It stars Ernie Hudson as L.C. Duncan, Valarie Pettiford as Chippy Duncan, and an ensemble including Darrin Henson, Tami Roman, and others.

The Family Business Current Status (Season 6)

  • Season 6 premiered on BET+ on October 23, 2025 (10 episodes, concluding around December 2025). Episodes later aired on BET in 2026 (e.g., starting April 2026).
  • A spin-off, The Family Business: New Orleanspremiered earlier in 2025, expanding the franchise.

The Family Business Season 7 Outlook

As of now, BET+ has not made any official announcement of renewal. However, there are fan pages and speculation videos that indicate renewed interest based on the show’s popularity and strong cast (from Carl Weber’s novels), as well as how much the franchise has grown over time. If renewed this year, we’d expect a late 2026 or 2027 premiere date, consistent with the previous seasons (approximately 9 to 12 months after the last one completed).

There are no trailers, cast or plot details available at this time, but there should be plenty of continued family power struggles, betrayals, alliances, and action, and the Duncans’ empire – possibly building off of the cliffhangers left over from Season 6.

The series has very strong audience engagement and has become a fixture of the BET+ service. Be sure to stream Season 6 on BET+ (also available in some regions via Paramount+) or follow official accounts (@familybusinessbet) or the BET+ service for any updates. Once renewed with a successful season and strong momentum for spin-offs, production typically begins ramping up.
