One of them has been kept in a special bio-containment unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center while the other passengers are kept under observation at the quarantine center.

At the same time, French Health Minister Stephanie Rist has informed that the condition of a French woman who was safely rescued from the ship is critical and her infection is continuously increasing.

The MV Hondius began its voyage from Argentina in March. The ship, while traveling through Antarctica and other regions, approached Cape Verde, where symptoms of serious respiratory illness were observed for the first time among passengers. The outbreak was first officially reported on 3 May. Although WHO says the risk to the general public is low, it remains a moderate risk in closed spaces and close contact areas.
