Tomorrow’s season: Be careful! Terrible storm will hit UP-Bihar in next 24 hours, IMD issues alert

Half of the month of May has passed and this time two different faces of nature are being seen together. While in some parts of the country the heat of the sun and heat waves have made life miserable for people, on the other hand the weather is about to take a sudden turn. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that on May 16, there is a threat of strong storm, lightning and heavy rain in a large part of the country. Due to this changing mood, life may be affected, hence everyone has been advised to remain alert.

Dust storm hits Delhi-NCR

Saturday is expected to start with strong sunshine and humidity in the country’s capital Delhi and its surrounding areas. The harsh rays of the sun will trouble people in the afternoon, but by evening the mood of the weather can change completely. According to meteorologists, the sky of Delhi will be covered with dense clouds in the evening and dusty winds can blow at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to be 39 degrees and minimum 28 degrees Celsius.

‘Orange alert’ in these districts of UP, winds will blow at a speed of 60

The harshest form of weather can be seen in Uttar Pradesh. ‘Orange alert’ has been issued in many parts of the state. Destructive winds can blow at a speed of 60 to 65 kilometers per hour in many districts including Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, and Azamgarh. This storm can damage weak houses and trees, hence villagers have been given strict instructions not to stop under trees.

The states of Eastern India may also witness the wrath of nature. In Bihar on May 16, winds blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers can cause huge damage to crops. At the same time, continuous heavy rains will continue in the hilly areas of West Bengal and Sikkim till May 18, due to which the risk of landslides has increased. ‘Red alert’ has also been issued in north-eastern states like Arunachal Pradesh.

At the same time, there may be heavy rains in Kerala and Tamil Nadu of South India till May 17. In view of the waterlogging situation in Kerala, people have been advised not to go to the sea shore.

Big ‘good news’ brought about monsoon

Amidst the scorching heat, there is a relief news regarding monsoon. According to the Meteorological Department, this year the south-west monsoon may arrive before its normal date of June 1. It is estimated that monsoon will reach Kerala around May 26. However, there can be a difference of 4 days, that is, monsoon can hit the Kerala coast anytime between 22 to 30 May. With its arrival, the temperature will start falling in North and Central India.
