Inflation is a double blow on the public: After milk, petrol and diesel become costlier, freight transportation will become expensive, more money will have to be spent on traveling also.

New Delhi. The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased amid the ongoing tension in West Asia. The common people have got a big shock due to the increase in the price of petrol and diesel. Earlier the price of milk had been increased. In such a situation, people are now facing a double blow of inflation. Besides, every sector from transportation will have to face the brunt of inflation. On Friday, transport operators of West Bengal said that due to cost of fuel, freight cost may increase by about three percent. He has demanded from the government that traders should not take advantage of this and increase the prices of goods excessively.

Fuel prices increased the most in Kolkata among the four metros. Here petrol became costlier by Rs 3.29 to Rs 108.74 per liter, while diesel increased by Rs 3.11 to Rs 95.13 per liter. With this, the price of petrol in Delhi became Rs 97.77 and diesel Rs 90.67 per liter. Actually, due to different VAT rates in the states, there is a difference in prices.

Bus fares may increase
Due to increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, people will now face the shock of inflation even while travelling. That being said, traveling by buses and trains can be expensive. There is a possibility of fare increase due to increase in prices of petrol and diesel.

Rahul Gandhi surrounded the government
Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has cornered the government over the rising prices of petrol and diesel. He said that it is the mistake of Modi government and the public will pay the price. The shock of ₹3 has already been received, the remaining recovery will be done in instalments.
