Big action on Ola-Uber and Rapido, strict decision of Maharashtra government, now apps may disappear from the phone
Ola Uber Rapido Ban Major Decision by Maharashtra Government: If you also resort to bike taxi to avoid traffic or to reach office quickly, then this news is very important for you to know. Let us tell you that the Maharashtra government has taken major action against companies like Ola, Uber and Rapido and has also sent notices to Google and Apple. In which a demand has been made to remove these apps from the platform. The government has cited the reason behind this as illegal running of bike taxi services in the state so that there is no threat to the safety of passengers.
Why did Maharashtra government take such a big decision?
In this matter, a notice was issued on May 15 by the Additional Director General of Police Office of Maharashtra Cyber Department. In this notice, Section 79(3)(b) of the IT Act 2000 is being cited and this action was initiated when Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik had written a letter to the Cyber Department on May 12 demanding strict action against illegal bike taxi services. The government had alleged through the letter that Ola, Uber and Rapido are running bike taxi services without necessary government approval and following the Motor Vehicles Act. The thing to be known in this is that till now only electric bike taxis have been given permission to make bike taxis in Maharashtra.
Increased concern regarding women’s safety
In the notice issued by the government, it was also said that there is serious concern among the passengers regarding the safety of women especially. In which it was claimed that the driver verification system, insurance and emergency response mechanism of the companies is very weak. This matter came to light when a woman died in a bike taxi accident. The government says that unless strict action is taken against these apps, it is going to be very difficult to stop illegal bike taxi services.
Big allegation against Rapido
In this whole matter, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has made another serious allegation against Rapido. He said that the company is telling its drivers that if a fine of Rs 200 to Rs 500 is imposed during RTO checking, then they can take back the money from the company by showing the receipt and the government is considering this as open disregard of the rules. At present this action is being taken only on bike taxi services. Due to which the company’s car, auto and food delivery services will continue to function as usual. But if this matter goes further then it is possible that the company’s problems may increase.

Will users be affected?
If this notice is approved then new users from Google and Apple will not be able to download these apps. Apart from this, thousands of people traveling daily may face problems due to closure of bike taxi services. The effect of which will be especially visible in big cities because here bike taxis are used for less expensive and faster travel.
